Supporting you and your customers: 2022 East Coast rain and flood event
In October 2022, members of the Vero Claims team had the opportunity to visit the flood affected towns of Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Casino, Ballina and Lismore in regional NSW.
This trip provided the team with the chance to meet with brokers on the ground and obtain valuable firsthand feedback on the Vero Commercial Claims flood response as well as the overall experience of brokers and customers across the wider industry.

The team were thrilled to hear that our broker partners were very satisfied with Vero’s service and claims response, and the overall feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, including:
- The ease and timeliness of Vero’s digital lodgement option. This option of lodging a claim online alleviated stress and wait times generally associated with lodging claims over the phone.
- A strong appreciation of the Suncorp brands rapidly providing customer response teams in affected areas, to offer support in person to brokers and customers.
Continuing to listen to our broker partners and take on your feedback is critical. As an example, following the flood events, we engaged extra support for the 2022/23 event season, in the form of additional hydrologists. These experts are extremely sought after in the industry, and we are proud to have some of the best at Vero.
Vero is incredibly grateful and thankful to the brokers and customers who so kindly welcomed us during the trip. It was a truly humbling experience to hear the stories and see the extent of the devastation and destruction caused by this catastrophic event.
